Now a fine of Rs 2000
The Government of India has made changes in the 1998 Motor Vehicle Act. That is, if the bike rider is wearing a helmet, but it is open, then a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on it. The helmet should have ISI mark
If the helmet does not have BSI (Bureau of Indian Standards ISI), then a fine of Rs 1,000 can be imposed on you. That is, you will have to wear only a helmet with ISI mark while driving a bike or scooter. If this is not done then a challan of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on you under section 194D MVA of the Motor Vehicle Act. However, Delhi Police is currently issuing challan of Rs 1000 to people.
