TRAI Reaction: Jio, Airtel and Vi's voice only plans will be cheaper, know the whole thing

Reliance Jio, Airtel and VI introduced voice and SMS only plans for their customers. These are the plans of the companies in which internet data facility is not available. Now the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has said a big thing about these plans.

TRAI reaction on jio Airtel Vi Plans: Following the instructions of the rules of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI, Jio, Airtel and Vi have introduced voice and SMS only plans. TRAI had given instructions to telecom companies for cheap special tariff voucher plans and STV plans in December 2024. TRAI had asked Jio, Airtel and Vi to introduce cheap plans, but the new plans that have been launched do not really seem affordable. Now TRAI has reacted on the new voice and SMS only plans of Jio, Airtel and Vi.

Let us tell you that recently Jio and Airtel introduced two voice and SMS only plans each. At the same time, a voice only plan was launched by Vodafone Idea. TRAI has said a big thing about these new plans of all three companies.

TRAI posted on its official social media platform X and wrote that ‘It has come to TRAI’s notice that recently some telecom companies have launched voice and SMS only packs. Companies will have to inform TRAI about these new plans within seven working days from the date of launch. TRAI said that the change of the recently launched new voucher plans will be as per the regulatory provisions of TRAI.

The biggest reason for the new voice only plans of Jio, Airtel, Vi coming into the headlines is their pricing. In fact, TRAI had instructed telecom companies to bring cheap plans to give relief to customers from expensive recharge plans to mobile users. However, the price of the voice only plans that were launched is quite high. In such a situation, it can be expected that after the examination of TRAI, the prices of the newly launched plans may change.
