Train Accident Updates: A train accident happened late Friday evening in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. Here an express train collided with a goods train. The Bagmati Express train, running at a speed of 75 kmph, went into the ‘loop line’ instead of going to the main line and collided with a goods train standing there. Many passengers were injured in this accident while a coach caught fire.

After the train accident, the Chennai division of Southern Railway has issued emergency helpline numbers 044-25354151 and 044-24354995. Apart from this, railway divisions in Andhra Pradesh have also issued emergency helpline numbers which include – Gudur- 08624 250795, Ongole- 08592 280306, Vijayawada- 0866 2571244 and Nellore- 0861 2345863. Apart from this, helpline numbers have also been issued for Samastipur (8102918840), Darbhanga (8210335395), Danapur (9031069105) and DDU Junction (7525039558).

Tamil Nadu Train Accident Reason: Know how the train accident happened

Southern Railway has issued a press release. It has been told that train number 12578 Mysuru Dibrugarh Darbhanga Express with LHB coaches was given green signal to proceed after crossing Ponneri station in Tiruvallur district at 8.27 pm on October 11, but while entering Kavarapettai station, the train crew got a strong shock and instead of going to the main line as per the specified signal, the train entered the ‘loop line’ at a speed of 75 kmph and collided with the goods train standing there.
