UAE has stopped issuing visas to Pakistani citizens. This has been confirmed by Pakistani Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi himself. Many Pakistani citizens have also complained on social media about not getting UAE visa. It has now been told why UAE has banned visas for Pakistanis.

Islamabad: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has stopped giving visas to Pakistani citizens. Many Pakistani citizens are facing visa problems to go to UAE. Even Pakistani celebrities and businessmen are not able to get UAE visas. Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi has also admitted that Pakistanis are facing a lot of difficulty in getting UAE visas. Common people of Pakistan are also complaining on social media that they are not getting UAE visas.

What did the Pakistani ambassador say

The Pakistani Embassy in the UAE has posted a video from its X (Twitter) account. In this post, Pakistan’s ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi is saying, “Efforts are being made to resolve the issue of Pakistanis not getting visas. If a visa is to be taken, Pakistanis should have return tickets, hotel bookings and 3000 dirhams. We have also told the FIA that those who can be seen on their faces that they do not have work visas and are not going for tourism but for some other purpose, not only stop them but also ban them.”

Why did the UAE ban Pakistanis

In fact, Pakistani citizens were involved in violating visa rules by going to the UAE. They were accused of misbehaving on social media, traveling through fake documents and being involved in criminal activities in the UAE. According to Dawn News, UAE officials expressed these complaints during a meeting between the Pakistani ambassador to the UAE and local officials. The UAE Cabinet proposed a ban on Pakistani citizens based on these issues. The Pakistani embassy has shared this with Islamabad in official documents.

Pakistanis violating UAE laws

UAE officials highlighted several reasons for the rising tensions, including the alleged involvement of Pakistani nationals in political activities and protests within the country, which is a direct violation of Emirati laws. Additionally, social media posts by some Pakistanis critical of UAE government policies have reportedly fuelled unrest. Cases of document fraud such as fake degree verification and forged identity cards and passports were reported among job seekers.

Pakistanis involved in criminal activities

The officials also flagged the greater involvement of Pakistani nationals in criminal activities, including theft, fraud, begging, prostitution and drug-related crimes, compared to other expatriate communities. The UAE’s zero-tolerance policy towards activities that compromise security and stability underscores the seriousness of these issues. The UAE said these issues were discussed in a Cabinet meeting, resulting in the imposition of visa restrictions on Pakistani nationals.
