UGC NET New Exam Date 2024: The dates of UGC NET exam can be changed. The Union Education Ministry can take this step in view of the South Indian festival Pongal. DMK MP has requested Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding this change.
UGC NET 2024 December session exam dates may be changed. DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has requested Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to reschedule the exam immediately. The DMK MP has given information in this regard by posting on the social media platform X. The examination is to be conducted by NTA from January 3 to January 16, 2025.
In a letter to the Union Education Minister, the DMK MP said that Pongal is falling on January 15 and 16. He said that Pongal is not just a festival. It is a celebration of Tamil pride and identity. Demanded to ensure that no student is forced to choose between his education and his tradition.
In the post made on X, he said, ‘I have written a letter to the Union Education Minister urging immediate change in the exam dates of UGC NET, which is scheduled on January 15 and 16 on Pongal.
Let us tell you that Pongal is a harvest festival in Tamil Nadu. It is celebrated from 13 to 16 January. It has four days: Bhogi Pongal, Thai Pongal, Mattu Pongal and Kanu Pongal. Each day has its own significance. In North India, this festival is celebrated as Makar Sankranti. According to the Hindu calendar, it marks the northward journey of the Sun.
On January 16, 2025, Sociology, French, Spanish, German, Sindhi, Comparative Study of Religion, Philosophy, Dogri and Kashmiri will be examined in the first shift. In the second shift, examinations of Library Science, Human Rights, Politics and International Studies, Hindu Studies and other subjects will be conducted. Students may have to face trouble due to this clash.
