CPCB takes tough steps to remove oxygen shortage
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has identified 400 units of 45 industries across the country to address oxygen shortage. Even if oxygen is produced from the nitrogen plants installed in all these units, their operation will not be affected. On the direction of Union Ministry of Environment, CPCB has started ‘Portal for Conversion of Nitrogen Plant to Medical Oxygen Plant’ in this direction on Sunday. Operators of interested units can apply on this portal and get official approval from CPCB to produce oxygen from nitrogen plant. The special thing is that 27 industries have taken the initiative in this direction, while the remaining 18 industries are also likely to start production of oxygen from the nitrogen plant soon.
