The government will focus on increasing the income of farmers, except paddy cultivation, which will give incentives to those who sow pulses, guar, oilseeds and maize.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has gifted the farmers with the slogan ‘Farming empty-yet-prosperous’ to save water. The incentive amount under Mera Pani-Meri Heritage Scheme will also be given to those farmers who will keep their fields empty at the time of Paddy crop. Since last year, the government has been giving Rs 7000 per acre to farmers who did not sow paddy. In this way, now farmers will also get money for the empty fields in the non-basmati paddy belt of Haryana.
The Chief Minister said that our aim is to make the prosperity of farmers and increase their income. My water-my heritage plan will be linked to my crop-my details (Meri Fasal Mera Byora). So that the farmers can get the benefit of the incentive money without any delay. The Chief Minister said that Haryana Government will provide incentive money to farmers who conserve water. The farmer who sows other crops instead of paddy crop will be provided incentive money.
Success: Sowing of other crops in 96000 acres
This scheme was implemented last year, under which incentives were given at the rate of Rs 7000 per acre to farmers who sow other crops (low water consumption crops) like maize instead of paddy. Due to which farmers in different areas of the state sown other crops instead of paddy in 96000 acres. As a result of the encouraging results received in the first year, the Haryana government has decided to encourage farmers under this scheme this time too.
During the review of this scheme, the officers of the Agriculture Department were instructed to educate the farmers more and more to save water. To make farmers aware, the state is divided into four zones. In each zone, a senior officer has been charged to make the farmers aware.
Incentives will be given for these crops
The Chief Minister said that farmers will be provided incentives for sowing of horticulture, vegetables, fodder, groundnut, moong and other pulses, soybeans, guar etc. For the benefit of this scheme, the farmers will have to give detailed information of my crop-my details and my water-per acre crop on my heritage portal. After this information is uploaded, the department will verify. After this, incentives will be released to the characters.
So that no complaints come
The Chief Minister said that no complaint should be made regarding any application related to the incentive amount of Mera Pani-Meri Virasat Yojana. For this, instructions have been given to ensure the verification of the filled details of the applicant in time. He also instructed to link my crop-mine details with the portal to implement this scheme properly.
