Women will be the first citizens of Amethi district
As the seat of the District Panchayat President in Amethi is reserved for women, there is a possibility of politics intensifying as the three-tier panchayat elections become fierce. With the seat reserved for the woman, such leaders will also be seen active in this election, who would remain silent if the seat was not reserved for the unreserved or female. After the reservation status is decided on the seat, Samajwadi Party, which is already with the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Congress, which withdrew their nomination in the last election, have also started preparing for the post. The BSP people are also not looking back. It may be noted that in the district panchayat elections held immediately after the formation of the district in the year 2010, the post of district panchayat president was reserved for the scheduled caste women. Kamla Saroj of the Congress was elected the District Panchayat President in this election. However, after forming the SP government in the year 2012, he joined the SP. In the year 2015, this seat was reserved for backward class women. In this election, the SP MLA of Gauriganj nominated Shivkali Maurya and the Congress nominated Krishna Chaurasia.
