Update Aadhaar Card: If you want to change/update name, address and date of birth on your Aadhar card, this is the right time to do so. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is offering this service for free on its online portal till June 14. Aadhaar card holders can update through MyAadhaar portal without paying any money. However, this work is necessary for 10 year old Aadhar card holders.

UIDAI is encouraging Indian citizens to update their Aadhaar card, especially if your ID was created more than 10 years ago. To update Aadhaar related information, you will have to upload new documents on the portal.
- First of all log in to MyAadhaar portal.
- To log in you will need your Aadhaar number and registered mobile phone.
- After logging in, scroll down and click on the ‘Document Update’ tab.
- After this you can verify your existing information and click on the next hyperlink.
- Then one can choose Proof of Identity and Proof of Address and then you can upload the scanned copy of the document information.
- Can proceed to upload. The list of documents to be accepted is given on the website.
- You will be given a 14 digit Update Request Number (URN), which can be used to check the updation status.
- Once the information is updated, you can get your new Aadhar card.
You can update this information in Aadhaar online
Although you can update all the details in Aadhaar like name, address, DoB, gender, mobile number, email as well as biometrics like finger print, iris and photograph, but there are some of these things which you can update online. You can update your name, gender, date of birth, address and language through Aadhaar online service.
These details will be updated offline in Aadhaar only
Apart from demographic details, there are some details which you have to fill offline only. For this you have to go to the Aadhaar Enrollment Centre. Offline you can update or add mobile number, biometric data and email ID.
The charge for offline update is Rs 50.
It is worth noting that for updating Aadhaar offline i.e. from the service center, a fee of Rs 50 will have to be paid. At the same time, no charge will be taken from people for updating online before June 14.
