UPI Holders: Big News! UPI payment makers are going to get new facility in new year 2024, check update

New facility in the new year 2024: If a user starts a UPI Lite account for tap facility, then he can do transactions worth less than Rs 500 through it. PIN will be required to be entered on payments of more than Rs 500.

Customers paying through UPI will soon get the facility of Tap and Pay. Under this, you have to touch your mobile with the payment machine and the payment will be done automatically. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has started the process of providing this service. It is believed that this facility will be available by 31 January 2024.

It is being told that the corporation has issued a circular in this regard and has asked the companies providing digital payment services to introduce this facility soon. However, the deadline set is not the final deadline for the companies. UPI service providing companies can start UPI-Tap and Pay facility on their app anytime. Currently, this service is available to some selected customers on Google Pay, Bhim App and Paytm.

RBI had announced

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das had announced the launch of the UPI Tap and Pay feature among other new digital payment features at the Global Fintech Fest in September this year. Earlier, National Payments Corporation of India had provided the facility of payment by voice on UPI (Hello UPI) and without internet.

Initial payment of Rs 500: If a user opens a UPI Lite account for the tap facility, he can make transactions worth less than Rs 500. PIN will be required for payments above Rs 500. At the same time, merchants will need UPI Smart QR or a tag that is equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

It has to be used like this

In this facility there will be no need to scan the QR code from the mobile phone. The customer simply has to touch (tap) the mobile with the QR code machine or payment machine. After this the payment will be done. To avail this facility, it is necessary to have NFC in the mobile.
