With the UPI (Unified Payment Interface), there is no hassle of going to the ATM repeatedly, nor to fill the card information repeatedly in the online payment. Online shopping or street shop and tapri tea, your UPI runs everywhere. But the fraudsters keep an eye on your one lapse. A mistake that they will get a chance to clear their hands on your account. Frauds are bringing such new tricks that no banking information will be asked from you but money will be debited from the account. In which ways this fraud can happen to you, we will tell you today.

Veteran private bank ICICI Bank has also warned its customers through a tweet about how you can get fraud (UPI Payment Frauds) through QR Code.

UPI Payment Frauds: How is fraud?

The easiest way to get money from your account is to request money request. UPI has a feature through which money is requested from you. By using this feature incorrectly, fraudsters can withdraw money from your account. You will get the message that to get the money, enter your UPI PIN or just that you have been paid and enter your PIN to get it. Here you have to be alert that PIN is needed only for payment and not for getting money. Do not click on such a message without knowing it, nor do you enter your PIN.

QR Code Scam: By luring similar money or any offer, many times the fraudster can send you a QR code and may say that by scanning the QR code, this reward money will come into your account. But before scanning any such QR code, note that with this they can get information about your account. Avoid any such greed and scan the QR code only for payment and not to win a prize online.

UPI Payment Frauds: Be cautious about your CVV number to OTP and do not share such information with anyone. If someone calls himself RBI or bank agent or agent of your telecom company, asks for any information related to the bank or asks you to send a message on the pretext of updating the SIM, then complain immediately and any information related to your phone or banking Do not share

If you are downloading an app, then note that it is from an official store only. Many apps can tamper with your phone’s privacy. Apart from this, do not install apps that provide remote access. Fraudsters can steal banking information by taking advantage of your screen share.
