Electricity Bill Update: According to the fresh order issued by Power Corporation Managing Director Pankaj Kumar regarding partial payment of electricity bills, lifeline consumers with low electricity consumption will be allowed to deposit a minimum of 10 per cent of the total outstanding bill or Rs 250 (whichever is higher) and other category defaulters will be allowed to deposit 25 per cent or Rs 1,000 (whichever is higher).

Electricity Bill News: The Power Corporation management has taken an important decision to provide relief to the defaulting electricity consumers. Now, even if the bill is paid partially, the electricity will not be cut. If the electricity is cut, then the electricity connection can be reconnected by depositing 25 percent of the dues.

According to the new order issued by Power Corporation Managing Director Pankaj Kumar regarding partial payment of electricity bills, lifeline consumers with low electricity consumption will have the facility to deposit a minimum of 10 percent of the total outstanding bill or Rs 250 (whichever is higher) and other category defaulters will have the facility to deposit 25 percent or Rs 1000 (whichever is higher). It is worth noting that if the connection has been disconnected due to non-payment, then the connection can be restarted by depositing at least 25 percent of the amount.

Departmental cash counters, online and other bill collection agencies will no longer need to take permission from anyone to provide the facility of partial payment of electricity bill. Consumers making partial payment will be able to make partial payment more than once in a month. The amount paid along with the total bill amount will be written on the receipt.

In case of partial payment, it will also be written on the payment receipt that ‘In case of pending electricity bill, the Electricity Distribution Corporation reserves the right to disconnect the electricity connection. To avoid disconnection of the connection, pay the bill in full on time.’

Warning given to defaulting consumers

Defaulting consumers have been instructed that if the connection is found connected without partial payment, a case will be registered and the outstanding amount will be recovered along with the penalty.

Now there will be no electricity problem at the bus station

Kumar Sarvesh, Raebareli. For the rejuvenation of the Transport Corporation depot, it has been selected under the PPP model. Under which a solar panel of 25 kW capacity will be installed in the depot. Due to which the department will get relief from electricity bill of about 40 thousand rupees per month and it will have a positive impact on the budget of the department. Preparations have been completed by the department. Work will be started soon.

Solar power generation will be started under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The decision to install solar panels is being considered a major achievement in this direction. It is in line with the government’s plans for energy saving and environmental protection.

According to officials, this 25 kW capacity solar panel will produce about 30,000 units of electricity per year, which will be used to run the depot’s office, workshop, passenger waiting room, staff room, and other power-driven equipment. The use of solar energy is important for the transport corporation from an economic as well as environmental point of view. The life of this system is about 20 years and its maintenance is relatively easy.

No other cost is required except cleaning and inspection of the panels. Local residents and environmental protection supporters have appreciated this initiative. They said that it is very important to adopt innovations like solar panels in government institutions, as it promotes energy conservation. Such projects also raise awareness towards energy saving.

Regional Manager RK Tripathi says that this initiative will help in reducing the carbon footprint of the depot. This project also reflects the responsibility of the transport department towards environmental protection in future. This will provide both environmental benefits and economic benefits. Thus, this initiative will help in balancing the budget of the department and will follow the government’s policy of promoting green energy.
