The Governor has approved the proposal of the State Property Department to give new names to 9 guest houses under the control of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

The Uttar Pradesh government has changed the names of its guest houses located in Lucknow, New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata (Uttar Pradesh Government Guest House). The Governor has approved this proposal of the State Property Department. According to the resolution, the names of Uttar Pradesh Sadan and Uttar Pradesh Bhawan have also been changed. Now the name of UP Sadan will be Uttar Pradesh Sadan Triveni. While the name of UP Bhawan will be Uttar Pradesh Bhawan Sangam.

In this way the property department has also changed the names of its guest houses in other states. In which Lucknow, New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata are included. On behalf of the government, the VIP Guest House located at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow has been renamed as the VIP Guest House ‘Saket’ Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow. Similarly, the special guest house, Dalibagh Lucknow has been renamed as the special guest house ‘Yamuna’, Dalibagh Lucknow.

Most of the guest houses are named after rivers.

The special thing in changing the names of these guest houses under the control of Uttar Pradesh government is that most of them have been named after rivers. For example, Yamuna, Ganga, Triveni, Gomti, Sarayu etc. The Yogi government has renamed its Navi Mumbai-based Uttar Pradesh State Guest House, Vashi, as Uttar Pradesh State Guest House ‘Vrindavan’, Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
