Vaishno Devi Yatra: Now there is a complete ban on carrying camera laptop and tab during Vaishno Mata Yatra. It is mandatory to deposit all these things in Katra only. Shrine Board Administration has issued SOP. However, there is no restriction on carrying mobile phones.

Yatra on target of anti-national elements

The Shrine Board administration says that the devotees keep in touch with their relatives through mobile phones. Announcements are being made from the information center established in Katra and sign boards have also been installed at various places to make the devotees aware that the building and the Yatra are being targeted by anti-national elements. The administration has taken this decision due to security reasons. Because Vaishno Devi Bhavan and Yatra are on the target of anti-national elements.

Permission will have to be taken from the police department

Devotees coming from all over the country will have to deposit their equipment like video cameras, digital cameras, laptops, tabs etc. in the cloak room of the Tourism Department or Shrine Board in Katra itself. Or the deposit can be made in the hotel, guest house or dharamshala etc. where devotees stay. If the devotees want to take such equipments towards the Bhawan, then first permission will have to be taken from the Shrine Board and the Police Department.

SOP issued by Shrine Board

However, carrying video cameras or digital cameras etc. on Bhavan Marg is already prohibited for many years. But recently, by issuing SOP, the Shrine Board has banned the carrying of laptops and tabs on the Bhavan Marg. Cooperation has been sought from the police department regarding this.
