Traveling passengers will soon enjoy more facilities in Vande Bharat Express trains as Indian Railways is going to equip the premium train with many features. 25 new changes will be seen in Vande Bharat. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the new rake of Vande Bharat Express will be seen running on the track with 25 major improvements.
These 25 changes in Vande Bharat Express trains
- Will be cushion and soft
- Increased seat recline for increased comfort
- Wash basin depth will be increased in toilets to prevent splashing of water
- Mobile charging point will increase
- Executive seats will be changed from red to blue
- Footrest space will be increased in the executive class
- Providing secure wheelchair points in Driving Trailer coaches with fixed seats
- Lighting of toilet will be increased for better visibility
- Better water flow will be ensured from the taps
- Magazine bags for executive seats
- Adding extra twist to toilet handle for better grip.
- Installing an accessible hammer box cover in case of emergency.
- Activating the Emergency Talk-Back Unit during an emergency
- Upgrading fire detection system for better security
- Increasing air conditioning insulation to maintain better air quality in coaches
- Incorporating hatch doors for easy maintenance
- Re-positioning of emergency stop push-button in driver control panel for better accessibility
- Introduction of transparent door assembly for fire extinguishers in coaches
- Uniform color to the driver’s desk to enhance visibility.
Vande Bharat being operated on more than 50 routes
Presently Indian Railways is operating more than 50 Vande Bharat trains on 25 different routes. Vande Bharat Express trains have emerged as the new age modern train set for travel on the Indian Railways network. Apart from this, Indian Railways is also developing Vande Bharat train with sleeper class for long distance passengers. The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is planning to launch a prototype in the coming year. In addition, Russia’s TMH and India’s RVNL have also signed an agreement to manufacture 120 sleeper variants and 80 more will be made by the BHEL-Titagarh Rail Systems consortium.
