Vande Bharat Express train: Preparations are on to run the Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express till Varanasi. The route survey is also being conducted by the Northern Railway Lucknow Division. If everything goes well, the Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat will be extended till Varanasi in the new year.
This train will have direct service between Varanasi-Meerut
This will be the only train with direct service between Varanasi-Meerut. Till now there is no direct service between Varanasi-Meerut from Varanasi and the surrounding districts. There is no direct service from Pt. Deen Dayal Nagar station, Azamgarh and Ghazipur as well. In such a situation, it will be a big convenience for the passengers of Purvanchal including Varanasi.
The survey has got the green signal from the Railway Board
Officials of the Northern Railway Lucknow Division said that the survey has got the green signal from the Railway Board. Under the survey, brainstorming is going on regarding its stoppage, route and time, fare. Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is operating from 31 August. However, this train is facing a shortage of passengers on this route. In view of this, the Railway Board has decided to operate it till Varanasi. In the meantime, public representatives also raised their voice to connect Vande Bharat to Varanasi and have also sent a letter to the Railway Ministry.
Bareilly Express cancelled till 31 December
Due to yard remodelling in Ayodhya, Varanasi-Bareilly Express, Varanasi-Lucknow Special train have been cancelled from 18 to 31 December and the route of many trains including Lucknow-Patna Vande Bharat has been changed. According to Northern Railway officials, 14235/14236 Varanasi-Bareilly Express is cancelled from 16 to 31 December, 04217/04218 Varanasi-Lucknow Special is cancelled from 17 December to 7 January. At the same time, 22445/22446 Patna-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express will now be short terminated in Lucknow instead of Gomti Nagar. Doon Express, Ganga Sutlej, Amritsar-Tinsukia Express will run on the changed route.
