In one of his statements, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had announced that Indian Railways is planning to run about 250 units of Vande Bharat sleeper trains by 2029.
On which routes will Vande Bharat Sleeper run
According to reports, new Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are expected to run on Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata routes. However, no official details are available in this regard. These trains may replace Rajdhani Express in future. Vande Bharat Sleeper is being manufactured at the manufacturing unit of Bharat Earth Movers Limited in Bangalore in collaboration with Integral Coach Factory, Chennai.
What will be the speed of Vande Bharat Sleeper
The new Vande Bharat Sleeper is likely to run at a maximum speed of 160 kmph, and its exterior design is said to be almost similar to Vande Bharat Express. It is being told that this train will have a total of 16 coaches and 823 berths for a comfortable journey for the passengers. In this train, passengers are provided with airplane-like facilities. There will be a pantry arrangement to provide food and drinking water. The exterior will include an automatic door, an odorless toilet. The coaches of this train will be completely sound-proof and will provide comfort to the passengers for a good sleep during the journey.
Railways will soon start Vande Bharat Metro.
The Railway Department is planning to start Vande Bharat Metro service to connect nearby cities. These trains are likely to operate between Kanpur-Lucknow, Delhi-Meerut, Mumbai-Lonavala, Varanasi-Prayagraj, Puri-Bhubaneshwar and Agra-Mathura. It is being told that 250 people can easily travel in each coach. Trial run of Vande Bharat Metro will be done by Railways soon.
