Vande Bharat: Inauguration ceremony of Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train canceled, this is the reason

Goa Mumbai Vande Bharat Express: The inaugural function of Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at Madgaon station was canceled due to a fierce collision between Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train in Odisha’s Balasore.

Goa Mumbai Vande Bharat Express: The horrific train accident in Odisha’s Balasore affected the inauguration of the Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express. This event has been cancelled. Konkan Railway officials said the inaugural function of the Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express at Madgaon station has been canceled in view of the accident involving three trains in Odisha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scheduled to flag off the Goa-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express via video link on Saturday (June 03, 2023) morning, while Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was to be present at Madgaon station for the ceremony.

Officials said the Railway Minister has visited the accident site in Odisha. So the ceremony was cancelled. At least 50 people were killed and 179 injured in a three-way accident involving Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Coromandel Express and a goods train on three different tracks at Bahanagar in Odisha’s Balasore district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was about to flag off Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express train and the country’s 19th Vande Bharat Express train. Just a day before this, three trains collided in Balasore, Odisha. In which more than 230 people died. While more than 900 people were injured. This Vande Bharat will run between Madgaon in Goa and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai.
