Vande Bharat: After the success of Vande Bharat, Indian Railways is preparing to launch sleeper Vande Bharat trains. Good news has come out regarding this. Actually, Modern Coach Factory (MCF) located in Rae Bareli, UP has prepared eight new Vande Bharat Express trains with sleeper coaches. It will have 16 coaches in one rake, out of which 11 will be AC 3 tier, four AC 2 tier and one AC first class coach. However, the coaches in the train can also be increased to 20-24.
According to a Times of India report, apart from MCF in Rae Bareli, Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, Integral Coach Factory in Chennai is producing coaches for the Vande Bharat train. Chief PRO of Railways RN Tiwari said that in the first phase we will roll out two rakes of sleeper Vande Bharat train and then the rest will be launched. Let us inform that apart from the sleeper Vande Bharat Express rakes, MCF has also been given the task to start manufacturing of push-and-pull train rakes with AC and non-AC coach configurations in the year 2024.
Vande Bharat also mentioned in the budget
Let us tell you that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also made a big announcement regarding Vande Bharat during the budget. Presenting the budget on Thursday, he said that 40,000 general rail coaches will be converted to Vande Bharat standards and three major economic rail corridor programs will be implemented. Presenting the Interim Budget for 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha, the Finance Minister said that three major Economic Rail Corridor programs will be implemented which will result in reduction of congestion in high traffic corridors, which will also help in improving the operations of passenger trains and passenger travel. Security and travel speed will increase. He said that along with the dedicated freight corridors, the three economic corridor programs will increase the GDP growth rate and also reduce logistics costs.
