A coach of Vande Bharat Express is standing at Howrah station. But as soon as you board it, you realize that this is not an ordinary train coach, it is a luxurious restaurant. Along with veg, non-veg delicious dishes are also available in this restaurant. But is it mandatory to have a ticket to eat at this restaurant?
Who will be able to eat food in it? Does this restaurant welcome only Vande Bharat Express passengers? Or will passengers of other trains also be able to enjoy the dishes? Since the commencement of operations, a lot of enthusiasm has been seen among the passengers towards Vande Bharat Express. Since its inception in 2019, more than 35 Vande Bharat Expresses are being operated on various routes. Keeping this enthusiasm of the passengers in mind, a restaurant has been started in the train coach in the Howrah station premises.
Where is Vande Bharat Coach Restaurant?
On the lines of Vande Bharat, this restaurant, opened in a coach of the train, has been opened just in front of the New Complex of Howrah Station. This restaurant was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Shipping Shantanu Thakur on Dhanteras last Friday (10 November). The restaurant is located in Bapu Udyan on the banks of the Hooghly River (Ganga), just opposite Howrah Station. This means that people can enjoy eating in this restaurant while enjoying the cool breeze coming from the Ganga. If any traveler wants to eat food while sitting in AC, then that facility is also available in this restaurant.
Decoration done on the lines of Vande Bharat Express
This restaurant, opened right in front of Howrah station, has been named ‘Rail Coach Restaurant’. The area around the restaurant has been decorated very attractively with trees and plants. If you look at the Rail Coach Restaurant from a distance, it will appear as if a blue-white colored coach of Vande Bharat Express is standing there. An abandoned ICF coach has been renovated and converted into a luxurious restaurant. This coach has been decorated in a very attractive manner. Passengers will experience thrill while eating in it.
Will tickets be mandatory?
It is not mandatory to be a railway passenger to dine in the rail coach restaurant. Even if you have gone to the New Complex area of Howrah station just for the purpose of visiting the Rail Coach Restaurant, you will still be welcomed in this restaurant. That means it is not mandatory for you to have a train ticket for lunch or dinner in this restaurant.
From here you will get a spectacular view of Howrah’s historical bridge, Howrah Station and most of all the sunset in the river Ganga in the evening. The restaurant’s menu will include Indian food as well as dishes like Tandoori, Continental and Chinese. Railway officials claim that this restaurant will provide delicious food to the people at very affordable prices.
