Sabarimala Vande Bharat Train: Railways has given a big gift on Monday to lakhs of devotees visiting Sabarimala pilgrimage in Kerala. For a long time, Sabarimala pilgrims were demanding Vande Bharat train in Chengannur, fulfilling which the Railways on Monday made its first stop in Chengannur. . The two-month long festival at the famous Sabarimala temple begins from November and the temple opens for a few days at the beginning of every Malayalam month.
First Vande Bharat train stopped in Chengannur
Except Vande Bharat, all trains stop at Chengannur railway station. Therefore there was a demand to stop Vande Bharat. On Monday morning, Vande Bharat stopped here for the first time since it started operations in April. It was welcomed by Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan and local MP Kodikunnil Suresh.
Pilgrims’ demands fulfilled
Dissatisfaction has been growing among regular railway passengers for some time now, especially after the commencement of operations of Vande Bharat. To run Vande Bharat smoothly, other trains are stopped for longer periods and this increased further when the second Vande Bharat was sanctioned. Muraleedharan told the media that the public demand has been fulfilled with this new arrangement. He said that when the next revision of the railway time table takes place, all the issues will be resolved.

Muraleedharan said, “Railways had two options, either start Vande Bharat operations in Kerala after the time table is revised or start and then wait for the revised time table. Railways revise time table twice in a year. And everyone is hopeful that when the new schedule is implemented, the current issue can be resolved.”
