New Delhi: While on some routes Vande Bharat Express is yearning for passengers, on the other hand one route is proving to be a boon for this train. On this route, passengers are travelling in this train in large numbers. The situation is that on this route this train has become too small. That is, more passengers are travelling in the train than its capacity. In such a situation, the railways have made some plans for this route. Vande Bharat trains are running on many routes in the country. One of them is Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore route of Madurai Railway Division. On this route, Vande Bharat train with eight coaches is running right now. There is a huge demand from the people for this premium train on this route. In such a situation, this train can be changed to 16 coaches instead of 8 coaches.
The route was launched last year
The Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24 September 2023. It was the first Vande Bharat train to southern Tamil Nadu, while the Madurai-Bengaluru-Madurai and Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express were flagged off on 31 August 2024.
Why is there more demand?
The timing of this Vande Bharat train connecting Tirunelveli and Chennai Egmore is very convenient according to the passengers. The train departs from Tirunelveli at 6 am and reaches Chennai Egmore at 1.50 pm. This train is also suitable for the passengers of Madurai and Trichy, as it reaches these stations at 7:50 am and 9:50 am.
The timing of the train is also very good in return. This train departs from Chennai Egmore at 2:50 pm and reaches Tirunelveli at 10:40 pm. It reaches Trichy and Madurai at 6:40 pm. It reaches southern destinations from Chennai at 8:30 pm. Thus it is suitable for the passengers going from Chennai to reach southern destinations at a convenient time.
