A passenger travelling by Vande Bharat train has alleged that he found a dead cockroach in the train food. He has shared the picture on social media and lodged a complaint with the railways.

A passenger of Vande Bharat going from Bhopal to Agra has complained about the food. The passenger alleges that he found a dead cockroach in the train food. He has made his complaint to the railways on social media. The passenger has shared the picture of his food on social media, which has now gone viral. In the picture, a dead cockroach is seen in the plate of vegetables.

The passenger shared this picture and expressed his disappointment, saying, “Today on 18-06-24, my uncle and aunt found cockroaches in the food served by IRCTC while traveling by Vande Bharat. Please take immediate action against the vendor to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.”

After this post went viral, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has imposed a fine on the food provider. IRCTC posted an apology and said, “We apologize for this experience during the journey. The matter has been taken seriously, and appropriate penalties have been imposed on the service provider. We have also increased monitoring of production and logistics.”

According to the Indian Express report, after this post, there was a sharp reaction from the people against the cleanliness and management in Indian trains. Many users tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on social media and demanded an explanation.

Reacting to the passenger post, a user wrote, “This is a serious problem as India’s most premium train Vande Bharat also has these problems. Seriously disappointed.” Another user commented, “Why is the government not serious about public health.” A third user reacted, “Sadly you know no action will be taken, the same food will be served again by the same vendor with the same problem, but no one cares.”
