Vande Bharat Food: There is a relief news for the passengers traveling in Vande Bharat trains. Now they can avail the facility of food during the journey, even if they have not opted for food at the time of booking the ticket. The Railway Board has issued a new directive in this regard on Friday.
The Railway Board has directed the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to provide food facility to passengers who did not choose the food option during ticket booking and also to passengers with existing bookings. The board’s circular said, “The facility of providing ready to eat food (RTE) as well as cooked food (if available) should be restored for existing bookings and non-selected passengers.”
Decision taken on the complaint of passengers
According to railway officials, it was a common complaint of passengers that if they had not opted for meals during ticket booking, IRCTC staff would refuse to provide them food during the journey even if the passengers were willing to pay the full price for it.
A railway official said, “It often happens that passengers do not choose food during ticket booking, but they feel the need for it during the journey. In such a situation, now clean and quality food will be made available to non-selected passengers in Vande Bharat trains.”
Instructions to IRCTC for food sale
The Railway Board has instructed IRCTC to ensure that passengers get better quality and hygienic food. The board has also said that the sale of food in the train will be done through trolleys within the stipulated time and no vending service will be provided after 9 pm (21:00 pm), or it will be stopped after the dinner service is completed.

This decision of the railways will benefit those passengers the most, who book tickets at the last moment or feel the need to buy food during the journey. Now passengers traveling in Vande Bharat trains can comfortably buy food of their choice even during the journey, which will make their journey more convenient and pleasant.
