Varanasi: “Ready to eat” (packed food) meals will be served to passengers in both the trips of Vande Bharat Express, which is continuously getting delayed due to fog. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has also implemented the new system. Passengers had recently raised questions on the quality of food in the train.
Due to delay of Vande Bharat Express, the catering arrangements had also deteriorated. Instead of the stipulated eight hours, Vande Bharat is taking up to 15 hours to cover the distance between New Delhi-Varanasi. That is why there started to be a difference in the menu of lunch, dinner and breakfast. The Railway Administration has taken cognizance of the flood of such complaints on Internet Media Platform X.

The specialty of the “ready to eat” meal is that it can be prepared in eight minutes and served to the passengers. During the Corona period, packaged food had become a better option in the catering system of Railways.
