Vande Bharat Train Fare

The government may soon give relief to the passengers traveling in the Vande Bharat train. Due to the vacant seats in some short distance Vande Bharat trains, the government can cut the ticket. According to sources, the railway is reviewing the price of tickets for this. First of all, small routes like Delhi-Dehradun etc. will be reviewed. After that other routes will be considered. After continuous trolling, the Railway Ministry has taken action.

The fare of these trains will be cut

According to PTI sources, seats are not being filled completely in some Vande Bharat trains, especially for short distances. In such a situation, the Railways is planning to review their fare and cut the fare. Fares of Vande Bharat trains like Indore-Bhopal, Bhopal-Jabalpur and Nagpur-Bilaspur are being reviewed. The seats in all these trains are running largely empty. According to sources, in view of the large number of vacant seats in the Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat train, its fare can be reduced substantially.

Booking is decreasing in these trains

Only 55 percent of the seats in the Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat train remain occupied. The general perception about this train, which travels for about five and a half hours, is that by reducing the fare, it can be made attractive for the passengers. Similarly, in June only 32 percent seats of Bhopal-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express were filled. The AC chair car fare of this train, which travels for about 4.5 hours, is Rs 1055, while the ticket price for the executive chair car has been kept at Rs 1880.

29 percent booking in Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat train

According to official data for June available with PTI, only 29 per cent seats were occupied in the Bhopal-Indore Vande Bharat train while 21 per cent seats were reserved in the Indore-Bhopal train. In this train which travels for about three hours, the AC chair car fare is Rs 950 while the executive chair car fare is Rs 1525. The longest journey of Vande Bharat trains is about 10 hours while the shortest journey is of three hours. Fares are being reviewed to overcome the problem of seats remaining vacant in some trains.

Railway officials said this

A senior railway official said, ‘The thinking behind this is that passengers in all Vande Bharat trains get a convenient travel opportunity. We have reviewed the situation and are of the opinion that some Vande Bharat trains, especially short distance ones, would do better if the fares are reduced. We want more and more people to travel in these trains. Although the seats are almost full in Vande Bharat trains, but there is no such situation in some trains, Railway is going to make necessary changes to make them successful as well.

So far, Vande Bharat trains are operating in 24 states and union territories of the country. Of these, Kasaragod-Trivandrum Express has 183 per cent booking and is the best performing Vande Bharat train. Vande Bharat trains running between Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central, Varanasi-New Delhi, Dehradun-Amritsar and Mumbai-Sholapur also have more than 100 percent booking.
