During the launch of Vande Bharat train, it was told by the railway that the top speed of the semi high speed train will be 160 kmph. On the existing railway track, the speed of Vande Bharat can reach only 130 kmph, but now on Mumbai and Ahmedabad route, this train will run at a speed of 160 kmph.
According to a TOI report, the Vande Bharat train running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will run at a speed of 160 kmph from August 15. The Railway Board has directed the Mumbai and Vadodara divisions to complete the necessary work and run confirmatory oscillograph cars by June 30. This project of Indian Railways aims to increase the speed of trains on busy routes. The distance between Mumbai and Ahmedabad by train is 491 km and currently it takes 5 hours 15 minutes by Vande Bharat Express. The increase in speed will save up to 30 minutes in travel time.
What is the timing of Vande Bharat on Mumbai-Ahmedabad route
At present, two Vande Bharat trains run on this route. One train runs on Sunday while the other Vande Bharat runs six days a week except Wednesday. On the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, train number 22962 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express leaves Ahmedabad at 06:10 and reaches Mumbai Central at 11:35. The same train stops at a few stations like Vadodara, Surat, Vapi and Borivali before reaching Mumbai Central at 11.35 am. On the return journey, train number 22961 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express leaves Mumbai Central at 15:55 and reaches Ahmedabad at 21:25. On the return journey, the train stops at Vadodara, Surat, Vapi and Borivali stations in both directions.

The Vande Bharat train has also been fitted with four platform-side cameras along with rear-view cameras outside the coach. The train is equipped with UV lights and high-efficiency compressors for better ventilation, air conditioning management and germ-free air supply. The advanced coach control management system also provides better monitoring and inputs for the control room and maintenance personnel.
