Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Indian Railways is also considering the operation of Vande Bharat Metro train. Vaishnav told reporters after a two-day brainstorming session or brainstorming session organized by his ministry that the Vande Metro design trainset has been finalised.
Where will vande metro train run
Giving information, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this eight-coach train will be operated inside the city for short distances. This train can be run first in Mumbai, due to which the passengers there will get some relief in commuting. After this it will be operated in cities like Delhi and Kolkata.
Why was the camp organized
According to the official statement, the purpose of the Chintan Shivir was to brainstorm on finding new ways. Besides this, innovative ideas were to be adopted to commission more tracks every year, higher loading per day and to achieve zero accidents. The focus of the camp was also to review the work of the Ministry of Railways and prepare an action plan to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047, the statement said.
Asked to increase the speed of the train
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav emphasized on rail safety and adoption of new technologies. He asked the officials to consider increasing the train speed to 160 kmph for half of the Indian Railways network. The Railway Minister asked the officials to devise a way to meet the needs of 11 billion passengers annually and decongest the railway network.
Focus on railways to strengthen the economy
The ET report said that the senior government official said that the role of Indian Railways in strengthening the Indian economy was also discussed and measures to attract more freight were discussed. The Railway Minister said that there has been an increase in the deployment and improvement of tracks and now the focus is on commissioning 10,000 km of tracks every year.
