ITBP rescues 16 people
ITBP DG Surjit Singh Deswal told that there is Tapovan Dam, 13-14 kilometers from Rishikesh, where water has gathered. Work was going on in the tunnel of Tapovan Dam, in which 20-25 people are stranded. So far 16 people have been rescued. However the rescue work is still going on and the work of rescuing the people trapped in the tunnel is being done at a rapid pace.

An alert has been issued by the district administration of Chamoli for people living on the banks of the Alaknanda River. According to eyewitnesses, in the morning suddenly, the water level of Dhauli Ganga was seen rising with a loud sound. The water surged forward in the shape of a storm and carried away everything that came in its way. District Disaster Management Officer of Chamoli told that a team of administration is present on the spot.
