At a time when the second wave of Kovid-19 is spreading fast and different state governments are putting a lockdown, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has started Know Your Customer (KYC) through video. .
With this service, now any person can open their savings account sitting at home in PNB. Customers will not have to go to any branch of the bank or fill the physical form.
PNB has become the first public sector bank in the country to have launched this service. On Tuesday, PNB has tweeted about starting this service.
A few days ago, the bank has celebrated its 127th Foundation Day.
PNB wrote on Twitter, “Welcome to the much awaited video KYC facility to open an online savings account. PNB is the first government bank to launch this fully digital service for customers. ”

Customers have to follow 4 easy steps to complete the video KYC.
Know Your Customer (KYC) is a mandatory process for all customers. As per RBI guidelines, KYC should be updated on regular basis. If KYC is not done, you can freeze the bank account.
Individual customers have to submit one of the 6 officially valid documents as proof of identity. These include passports, driving licenses, Aadhaar cards, voter identity cards, job cards issued under MNREGA and letters issued from the National Population Register (NPR).
