The Maldives government, in panic, suspended those ministers and leaders. Still, people’s anger did not stop. Many celebrities including Sachin Tendulkar, Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Suresh Raina talked about India First. Even today Maldives is becoming a victim of people’s anger. But do you know that once a cabinet meeting was held under the sea in Maldives. The entire government was under water within 30 minutes. You will also be surprised to know the reason.
The matter is of October 2009. Due to rising global temperatures, nations like Maldives are facing an existential crisis. There is a danger of them drowning. Because most of the Maldives is just one meter above sea level. Scientists estimate that this country may sink into the sea by the year 2100. The danger is so great that every year some part of it is getting absorbed into the sea water. In case of high temperature, the crisis will increase further due to melting of snow. To save itself from this and to warn the world about this crisis, the government there had taken an amazing decision. On October 19, 2009, the entire government of Maldives held an underwater meeting. The meeting lasted for 30 minutes.

Cabinet meeting was held 15 feet below the sea
11 ministers and cabinet secretaries also participated in this cabinet meeting chaired by Maldives President Mohammed Nasheed. The meeting took place 15 feet below water, for which all the ministers took a dive and landed in the sea. Everyone signed a document in which all the countries of the world were demanded to reduce the emissions of dangerous gases. In the videos that went viral at that time, all the leaders could be seen wearing black diving suits and masks.
All the ministers had gone with the divers
Tables were arranged for the President and ministers to sit. Fish were also seen swimming around all the ministers including the President. The ministers and the President spoke with hand gestures underwater and comments were written with indelible ink on a waterproof board. The government said there was no need for danger. Because every minister was sent with a skilled diver. Sharks in Maldives are also not very aggressive, so there was no fear of their attack; President Nasheed himself has been a skilled diver. This was the first case in the world when a cabinet meeting was held under the sea.
