Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members have approved the Unified Tourist Visa to allow easy movement of travelers between countries like Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Chairman of the current GCC session, made the announcement in Oman during the 40th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council Interior Ministers.
GCC states unanimously approve unified tourism visa system for the region. The system, which is expected to be implemented in the six countries in 2024-25, was announced by GCC Secretary General Jassim Al Budawi at the 40th meeting of GCC Interior Ministers in Oman.

The Council also approved the electronic linking of traffic offenses between GCC states and is drawing up a comprehensive strategy to combat illicit drugs, which aims to “contribute to the fight against its scourge”.
