Chinese company Vivo will be the tight sponsor of IPL 2021. From 2022, the company will continue to be a sponsor for 2023. Last year Dream11 was the sponsor of IPL.
Vivo has once again been made the title sponsor of the IPL among Bycot China. From 2018 to 2022, IPL had sponsorship rights, but last year Vivo and BCCI together skipped IPL 2020. Now VIVO will be the sponsor of IPL by 2023 once again.
Chinese smartphone company Vivo will once again be the title sponsor of the IPL. Vivo was replaced by Dream11 during IPL2020, but now Vivo has returned as a sponsor.
Significantly, after the border dispute between India and China, the BCCI had skipped the contract with Vivo for a year after seeing the public sentiment. However, the BCCI did not say what was the reason behind this.
IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel has announced that Vivo has returned with the IPL. Even though the sponsor’s contract was terminated with Vivo in the previous season, BCCI has signed an IPL sponsorship deal with Vivo from 2017 to 2022.
Chinese company Vivo has acquired title sponsorship for IPL by giving approximately Rs 2,190 crore to BCCI from 2018 to 2022. Let us know that earlier in 2015, Vivo was given the sponsorship of IPL.
Since the sponsorship of IPL was suspended from Vivo for one year, now Vivo will have sponsorship rights for one year by 2023.
Before the IPL 2020 last year, the BCCI issued a statement saying, ‘BCCI and Vivo have decided to suspend the partnership for IPL 2020’.
After this, Dream11 bought the sponsor rights for IPL 2020 by giving about 222 crores rupees. It is also to be noted that last season’s IPL took place in Dubai and Vivo’s smartphone business is much bigger in India than in Dubai.
