Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced new benefits for customers falling in the low income group. It will offer data benefits along with free voice calling for a limited period. The telecom giant says that these free benefits are priced at Rs 75 and are aimed at helping low-income customers stay connected as the unlocking process has gradually started in several states of the country. Vi says that many prepaid customers were unable to recharge during the lockdown period and this benefit will bring them a sigh of relief.
The new Vodafone Idea benefit gives customers 50 minutes of free Vi to Vi calling and a total of 50MB data. There is a total validity of 15 days to avail these benefits. This offer is available for prepaid users and for those who could not recharge during the lockdown. Vi is calling these benefits the Unlock 2.0 benefit, Vi is asking customers to dial USSD code 44475# or call toll-free IVR 121153 to check their eligibility.
Vi will decide whether the user is eligible or not and then the company will inform the user through SMS (message) whether he can avail the benefit of this Rs 75 price or not. Alternatively, Vi customers can get their eligibility checked through the nearest retailers. Customers can recharge with the pack of their preferred value within the next 15 days from the activation of this benefit.

If a customer recharges through the official app or website, he gets 200MB extra data.
The telecom operator has also introduced a new combo voucher RC79, which doubles the talk time. The normal Rs 79 combo recharge offers Rs 64 talk time, 200MB data and 28 days validity, but with this the talk time comes down to Rs 128, while other benefits remain the same.
