A few days before this, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had issued a notice to the city police regarding a video of a man doing obscene acts in a metro train going viral. The Commission said that a viral video has come to the fore, in which a man can be seen brazenly doing ‘obscene act’ in the Delhi Metro. This is a very serious matter.
Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal demanded strict action against the accused. Maliwal said that in a video that has surfaced on social media, a man can be seen masturbating shamelessly in the Delhi Metro. This is a very disgusting and disturbing incident. The accused should be arrested and strict action should be taken in this matter.
The Women’s Commission said, such cases are coming to the fore more and more in the Delhi Metro and there is a need to take strict action against such persons so that the safety of women in the Metro can be ensured.
DMRC made this appeal to Metro passengers
Explain that under Section-59 of the DMRC Operation and Maintenance Act, indecency has been considered a punishable offence. Regarding this, DMRC had recently appealed to the people to maintain decorum while traveling in the metro. DMRC had said that we should be accepted in that kind of society from our passengers. Passengers should not wear any such dress or do any activity, which hurts the sensibilities of fellow passengers.
The DMRC in its statement had also said that the choice of clothing while traveling is a personal matter, but passengers are expected to behave like a responsible citizen.
Now flying squad’s eye
Let us tell you that after the video of a bikini girl went viral in the Delhi Metro, there was a lot of ruckus. Since then, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation i.e. DMRC was being demanded to make rules to stop obscenity in the metro.
