Bengaluru News: A case of a woman suddenly jumping off a moving Rapido bike has come to light in Bengaluru. The video of the incident is viral on social media. It is said that the driver of the Rapido bike tried to molest the woman, following which she jumped off the moving bike to save herself.

The woman alleges that the person driving the bike tried to molest her and then snatched her phone and wanted to take her to an unknown place through another route. When the woman realized this, without caring for her life, she jumped from the moving bike on the road.

The incident is of 21 April

Police said the incident took place on the night of April 21, when the victim booked a Rapido ride to Indiranagar and was received by the driver at 11:10 pm.

The woman alleges that the bike rider took her phone on the pretext of checking the OTP and said that I will give it in a while, till then you sit down. After this, the accused made the woman sit and started going towards the airport and started molesting her. Police said that despite the woman making noise and asking the accused driver to follow the instructions, he continued to do wrong things.

The woman told the police that she eventually had to jump off the moving motorcycle to save herself. DCP Northeast Lakshmi Prasad said that this is the first case in our division. Our commissioner has called all cab aggregators, bike taxi services and food delivery people to discuss the safety of women and citizens.

Accused bike taxi drive arrested

DCP Northeast Lakshmi Prasad said that we have registered cases under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 366 (kidnapping, abducting or forcing a woman to marry, etc.) Case has been registered under.

The top police officer said, “When companies are hiring someone, background verification should be done. He told that the accused is not a local, he is from Hyderabad and has been living here for the last 5 years. We will find out if he has any such past record in Hyderabad? He said that the accused Deepak has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
