Water Crisis: Big News! Now if caught wasting water, fine of ₹ 2000 will be imposed, order issued

Delhi Water Crisis: To avoid water shortage in the scorching heat, the Delhi government has decided to impose a fine of Rs 2000 on those who waste water.

Delhi Water Crisis: The Delhi government on Wednesday directed the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to impose a fine of Rs 2,000 on wastage of water. This step has been taken at a time when there is a ‘serious shortage’ of water in Delhi. Water Minister Atishi has accused Haryana of not releasing Delhi’s share of water from the Yamuna river.

If caught washing a car, you will be fined

Atishi said that fines will be imposed for washing cars through pipes, overflowing water from water tanks and using domestic water for construction and commercial purposes.

200 teams will monitor

The minister has directed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DJB to deploy 200 teams to implement measures to prevent wastage of water. These teams will be deployed from 8 am on Thursday and will impose fines on those who waste water. The teams will also disconnect illegal water connections at construction sites or commercial establishments.
