Delhi Weather Update: Due to bad weather in Delhi-NCR, about 8 flights have been diverted, while 22 trains are running late.

Delhi Weather Update: Dense fog prevailed in Delhi-NCR on Sunday, due to which more than 100 flights and 22 trains were delayed due to poor visibility. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees below the average. There was dense fog in Delhi on Sunday morning and the lowest visibility was zero in Safdarjung at 8 am, while Palam also recorded zero visibility at 5 am.

8 flights diverted

Due to bad weather in Delhi, 8 flights coming to Delhi from 4.30 am to 7.30 am on Sunday have been diverted. Out of these, 7 flights have been diverted to Jaipur and one to Mumbai.

Delhi Airport issued advisory

Delhi Airport issued advisory regarding dense fog and bad weather, saying that flight operations at Delhi Airport may be affected due to dense fog. Passengers are requested to contact the respective airlines for updated flight information. Deeply sorry for any inconvenience.

Weather stopped the speed of trains

According to Indian Railways, a total of 22 trains are running late by hours due to fog and cold wave. Traffic was extremely slow on the roads as visibility was reduced to a few feet due to fog.

Delhi weather condition

Meanwhile, the air quality is turning ‘severe’ in many areas of Delhi, prompting the weather office to issue a red alert due to the prevailing cold and foggy conditions. IMD’s forecast has indicated that dense fog will remain in Delhi till Tuesday.

On January 12, the city faced its first cold wave day of the season, with the temperature dropping to 3.9 degrees Celsius. Saturday was the coldest night so far, the lowest temperature of the season was recorded at 3 degrees in Aya Nagar, the last village on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road in Delhi.
