How will the weather be in Delhi on Tuesday?
It rained with thunder and hailstorm in many parts of the national capital Delhi on Monday evening. Due to this, a drop in temperature was recorded. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature recorded on Monday was 24.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees Celsius less than the season’s average. At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at 13.4 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees Celsius less than the average of the season. Meteorologists have predicted partly cloudy sky on Tuesday and light to moderate fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 25 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively.
Delhiites did not get relief from pollution
Even after the rain, the people living in Delhi have not got relief from pollution and the average AQI still remains around 350. Today (November 28) morning, AQI was recorded at 375 in Delhi’s Anand Vihar, 414 in Vivek Vihar, 339 in Lodhi Road, 436 in ITO, 390 in RKpuram, 368 in Pusa and 325 in Mathura Road. Whereas AQI is 309 in Noida adjacent to Delhi, 296 in Ghaziabad, 275 in Faridabad and 265 in Gurugram. Earlier on Monday, Delhi’s 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 395 at 4 pm and 391 at 9 pm. The average AQI recorded at 4 pm on Sunday was 395.
Flights diverted from Delhi due to bad weather
16 flights landing at Delhi airport were diverted to other places on Monday evening due to bad weather. Giving information, an official said that these flights were ‘diverted’ between 6 to 8 pm. The official said that 10 flights were sent to Jaipur, three to Lucknow, two to Amritsar and one to Ahmedabad. Another official said that five Air India flights were diverted to other places. Among these, a flight coming from Sydney has been sent to Jaipur.
27 people died due to lightning in Gujarat
27 people have died due to lightning during unseasonal rains in different parts of Gujarat. The rain has also caused considerable damage to houses and standing crops. Officials said the lightning-related deaths occurred within a span of 24 hours beginning Sunday morning. According to the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC), so far 27 deaths have been reported due to lightning during unseasonal rains in different parts of Gujarat. Maximum deaths occurred in the districts of Dahod, Tapi, Dangs, Amreli, Surendranagar, Botad, Mehsana, Kheda, Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Ahmedabad, Bharuch and Devbhoomi Dwarka. Untimely rains along with storm and hailstorm have also caused damage to houses and standing crops, which will be assessed.
Heavy rain in some parts of MP also
Many parts of Madhya Pradesh also received unseasonal rain along with thunderstorms on Monday, causing a drop in temperature. Officials said on Monday that more than 100 mm of rain was recorded in some districts of the state. Lightning strikes were also reported during the 24-hour period ending 8.30 am on Monday. Senior meteorologist of IMD’s Bhopal center said that Indore and Bhopal cities of western Madhya Pradesh received 51 mm and 3.6 mm of rain respectively. In the 24-hour period ending 8.30 am on Monday, Jhabua district received the highest rainfall of 110.3 mm, while Barwani district recorded 109 mm rainfall. Due to rain, the mercury has fallen by a few degrees Celsius in many parts of the state, due to which the daytime weather has become slightly cooler.
