Weather Update: IMD forecasts heat in November, know when it will get cold

IMD Winter Weather Update: The mood of the weather is constantly changing. More than average rainfall was recorded in many states during the monsoon. Now IMD has released an update regarding the winter season.

Weather Update: This time, the southwest monsoon brought heavy rains in most parts of the country. Due to favorable conditions from the Bay of Bengal to the Arabian Sea, most of the states recorded above average rainfall. After this, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) had predicted severe cold in the plains of India. Now the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a sweat-inducing update about the winter. According to the IMD, the heat in the month of October has broken the record of 123 years. At the same time, the possibility of severe cold in the month of November is also very low.

According to the IMD, the month of October this year in India has been the hottest since the year 1901. The average temperature was recorded 1.23 degrees Celsius higher than normal. This information was given by the Weather Center on Friday. The Weather Department has not given any indication about the upcoming winter and has predicted that the weather will remain hot in November as well. IMD Director Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that the absence of Western Disturbances and the easterly winds blowing due to the active low pressure system in the Bay of Bengal are responsible for the hot weather.

Average temperature of October

IMD Director Mahapatra said that the average temperature in October was recorded at 26.92 degrees Celsius. This was the hottest October since the year 1901. The normal temperature in October is usually 25.69 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature has also been recorded at 21.85 degrees Celsius as against the normal temperature of 20.01 degrees Celsius across the country. Mahapatra further said, ‘North-westerly winds are required for the drop in temperature in north-western India. Monsoon flow has also been observed, which does not allow the temperature to fall. He said that the temperature in the north-western plains will remain 2-5 degrees above normal for at least the next two weeks, after which it will gradually fall.

Where will there be more than normal rainfall

Mahapatra said that the weather office does not count November as a winter month. He said that January and February are considered winter months, while December shows signs of cold. Due to the north-east monsoon in the South Peninsula, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Mahe and South Interior Karnataka are expected to receive more than normal rainfall in November. The Weather Office said that most parts of the country are expected to receive more than normal rainfall except some areas of Northwest India and Central India. Most parts of the country are likely to receive more than normal rainfall except some areas of Northwest India and Central India.
