Weather Update: IMD issued alert of torrential rain and heavy snowfall, know the weather condition

Weather Update: Rainy weather will continue in Uttarakhand for the next few days. On Sunday also, rain is forecast in most of the districts of the state and snowfall in areas at altitude above 2500 meters.

Weather Updates: Heavy rain occurred in some parts of the national capital Delhi early on Sunday. Mandi House, RK Puram, Indraprastha, Dutta Path and many areas of Central Delhi have recorded a drop in temperature due to rain. This sudden change in weather occurred on Saturday morning with strong winds and rain in many areas of Delhi including Greater Kailash, India Gate, RK Puram and Janpath. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.

The IMD reported severe weather conditions over northwest India during 2 March. The IMD has reported that a western disturbance has established itself as a cyclonic circulation over northern Afghanistan and its adjoining areas. Due to this, a trough is extending till the north-western Arabian Sea. This is affecting the weather patterns. It is expected to last till March 3.

In terms of temperature, minimum temperatures were recorded above normal at different places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on Saturday. The Meteorological Department estimates that there will be fluctuations in minimum temperatures in northwest India in the next three days.

According to IMD forecast, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh. IMD has warned of rain in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Northern Madhya Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Rainy season will continue in Uttarakhand

Rainy weather will continue in Uttarakhand for the next few days. On Sunday also, rain is forecast in most of the districts of the state and snowfall in areas at altitude above 2500 meters. There will be some reduction in rainfall from Monday, but there are chances of light rain in some districts of the state till March 6. It will rain at most places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh on Sunday. Whereas at some places in Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri and Haridwar districts, there will be one or two spells of rain during the day. Between March 4 and 6, light rain is forecast in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar till March 6.

Rain in many areas of Rajasthan, damage to crops

Light to moderate rainfall occurred in many areas of Rajasthan due to which crops were damaged. According to Jaipur Meteorological Centre, light to moderate rain occurred in some parts of the state in the last 24 hours. Maximum rainfall of 19 mm has been recorded in Churu and 17 mm in Lalsot (Dausa). According to the weather centre, there is a strong possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and hailstorm at one or two places in Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions of eastern Rajasthan on Sunday.
