Delhi’s winter has now started showing its colours. On Thursday, for the first time this season the mercury dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain next week, due to which the temperature is likely to go down further.
The cold is continuously increasing in Delhi and surrounding areas. The minimum temperature recorded on Thursday (9.2 degrees Celsius) was 2 degrees below normal, while on Wednesday it was recorded at 10.6 degrees, which was the lowest of this season till then. However, meteorologists say that due to presence of clouds, there may be some increase in the temperature from Friday evening.
There was some increase in the maximum temperature and it was 26.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday, compared to 25.7 degrees Celsius the day before. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to increase on Friday. The minimum temperature is expected to be around 10 and maximum 26 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Kuldeep Srivastava says that due to the advance of western disturbance, there may be some increase in the minimum temperature. He said that the wind direction will be from eastern to southern and the speed will be quite low. The temperature will increase due to cloudy weather.
When will it rain?
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in Delhi next week. There may be light rain with thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Rajasthan around November 27. Delhi-NCR may get relief from pollution due to this rain. However, there will not be much change in the maximum temperature during this period. The maximum temperature is likely to be 25-26 degrees Celsius around November 27.
