Light/snow turn and lightning with varying grades are predicted over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand on March 24.
Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain with thunderstorms and lightning in many parts of the country till March 26. Light rain/snowfall with thunderstorms is predicted in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Temperature has increased in many parts of Rajasthan and the maximum temperature is being recorded higher than normal. The maximum temperature in the south-western parts of the state is being recorded 2-3 degrees Celsius above the average.
Rajasthan
There is likely to be no significant change in temperature in the next 2-3 days. Due to the effect of weak western disturbance, there is a possibility of light rain/drizzle with thunder at some places in Bikaner and Jaipur divisions of western and northern Rajasthan on March 24. A new western disturbance is likely to be effective in the north-western and northern parts on 26-27 March.
Kerala, Mahe, Saurashtra and Kutch
IMD said that the weather is likely to remain hot in Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Saurashtra and Kutch during the next four days and in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during the next two days.
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram
The weather department has predicted light to moderate rain and lightning with isolated thunderstorms over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during March 21-26. Orange alert of heavy rain has been issued in Assam and Meghalaya on 23 and 25 March.
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka
For Tamil Nadu, IMD has predicted that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at one or two places in South Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, IMD has predicted light rain at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Punjab, Haryana
The Meteorological Department has also predicted sporadic light rain in Punjab and Haryana on March 24.
