Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there may be heavy rains in eastern and central India on August 19-20. Apart from this, from August 20, the rainy season may intensify in Northeast India as well. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of monsoon rains being largely less in the rest of August in North West and Central India.
What does IMD’s alert say?
Forecasting for Eastern India, the Meteorological Department has said that there will be very heavy rains in Odisha today, August 19. Apart from this, heavy rains will continue in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim till August 19, Bihar and Sub Sikkim till August 22. More rains may occur in Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Patna, Samastipur, Khagaria districts of Bihar. On the other hand, talking about central India, an alert has been issued for heavy rains on August 19 and 20 in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.
Talking about Northeast India, heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh from August 19 to 22. The Meteorological Department has told that there will be heavy rains in the hill state of Uttarakhand till August 23, while in UP on August 19 and 22, it will rain heavily in Himachal Pradesh till August 22. If we talk about South India, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana can see heavy rain tomorrow on 19th August.
