Weather Update: There is a lot of change in the weather since last few days. The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert in Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha. There may be light rain in Madhya Pradesh, some areas of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of increase in temperature in Mumbai in the coming days.

Meteorologist has predicted rain in many states including Delhi this week. Today (April 24) the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heat wave in Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. There is a possibility of light rain in some parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Let us tell you that due to rain in Delhi yesterday (April 23), 15 flights had to be diverted at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Many states are facing the brunt of extreme heat. In many states across the country the temperature has crossed more than 41 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures above 41 degrees Celsius have been recorded in many parts of Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.

The Meteorological Department says that strong winds will continue this week. Due to this, the temperature dropped by 3 degrees Celsius. After rain on Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees. Today the maximum temperature is expected to be 37 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 22 degrees. The weather is likely to remain clear on Thursday, April 25. Heat waves and humidity after rain can be troublesome. The maximum temperature on Thursday may be 38 degrees. The minimum temperature is also expected to be 23 degrees.
Severe heat in Uttar Pradesh
At present the heat wave is increasing in Uttar Pradesh. It has become difficult for people to leave their homes in the afternoon. According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave may occur in Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli.
Heatwave alert in Mumbai
The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for Thane, Raigarh and Mumbai in Maharashtra from April 27 to 29. The Meteorological Department says that there is anti cyclonic circulation in parts of Thane, Raigad and Mumbai. Due to which the temperature will increase. The temperature will be higher on 27th and 28th April. Heatwave alert has been issued for the second time this month in Mumbai and neighboring districts Thane and Raigarh.
Weather condition in other states of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur over East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. There is also a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh.
