Weather Update: Storm, rain and snowfall in some states, heat wave in some places, know the condition of your area

Weather Update: The weather has changed across the country. Due to the winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, many states are experiencing rain, thunderstorms and hailstorms, while severe heat continues in some areas. IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain and thunderstorms in 12 states

Weather Update:  Due to the winds coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, the weather has changed across the country. While on one hand, till a few days ago, severe heat and heatwave were wreaking havoc in many states, now the temperature is falling due to clouds, rain and cold winds. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of strong thunderstorms, rain and hailstorms in 12 states including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh. Rain will continue in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh for the next few days.

However, the heat is expected to increase further in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. At the same time, Sissu Lake of Lahaul-Spiti has frozen due to snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. This change in weather is likely to bring relief in some places and increase difficulties in others.

Alert of rain and storm in 12 states

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of thunderstorms, rain and hailstorms in 12 states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra on Thursday. Strong winds can blow here at a speed of 40-50 kmph. Rain alert has been issued in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and all the states of the Northeast.

Heat wave continues in these states

While some states will get relief from the rain, the heat is likely to increase further in Saurashtra and Kutch region of Gujarat, western Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. The effect of weather has also been seen in the northern Himalayan region. Sissu Lake of Lahaul-Spiti has completely frozen due to snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

Where will there be relief, where will there be havoc?

Rain and hailstorms are expected in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal and South India till April 6. At the same time, heat wave conditions have been predicted in Saurashtra-Kutch of Gujarat, Rajasthan and some parts of western India for the next seven days.

The weather department has advised people in the affected states to remain alert:

Stay indoors, keep windows and doors closed.

If possible, avoid traveling.

Take shelter in a safe place and avoid standing under trees.

Do not lean against concrete walls or lie on the floor.

Unplug electrical and electronic devices.

Immediately get out of a pond, river or canal during lightning.

States’ weather update

Rajasthan: Thunderstorm and rain alert

The effect of western disturbance has started showing in Rajasthan. Light drizzle along with thunderstorm was recorded in some districts of Kota division late night. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain at some places in the districts of Bharatpur, Jaipur and Kota division.

Madhya Pradesh: Threat of hailstorm in many districts

Weather continues to change in the state due to western disturbance and cyclonic circulation. Hailstorms may occur in Khargone, Khandwa, Harda and Betul. Thunderstorms and light rain may occur in Gwalior and Jabalpur divisions, while Bhopal and Indore are likely to remain cloudy.

Uttar Pradesh: Possibility of rain and lightning in 26 districts

Rain and thunderstorm alert has been issued in 26 districts of the state. Many districts including Lucknow are cloudy since morning. The speed of winds here can be up to 30-40 kilometers per hour. The temperature may drop by 3 degrees Celsius in the next few days.

Chhattisgarh: Orange alert in 9 districts

Warning of rain and hailstorm has been issued in Surguja, Balrampur, Jashpur, Korba, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Dhamtari, Gariaband, Kanker and Kondagaon. Many districts including Raipur are cloudy and cold winds are blowing.

Punjab: Temperature continues to rise

The maximum temperature in the state has increased by 1.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Bathinda has reached 35 degrees Celsius. The heat is expected to increase further in the coming days.

Haryana: Bhiwani the hottest, temperature reached 37.2 degrees

The temperature is continuously rising in Haryana. Bhiwani was the hottest district in the state, where the mercury reached 37.2 degrees Celsius. The state has recorded a temperature 1.9 degrees above normal.

Himachal Pradesh: Temperature drops due to snowfall

Light snowfall and rain is expected in Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts of the state. Cold may increase in high altitude areas, while the weather is likely to remain clear in the plains.
