Rajasthan Weather Update: The weather of the state will remain dry for three to four days. During this time, the temperature is likely to fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius and dense fog is likely to be recorded at some places in northern Rajasthan. Here, due to the activation of a new western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain with thunder in Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur division on January 10-12.

According to the Rajasthan Meteorological Department, moderate to dense fog will prevail across the state on January 6-7. On Monday, a fog alert has been issued in 20 cities of the state including Jaipur. During this period, very dense fog is also expected at some places. The weather is expected to remain dry in the capital Jaipur till January 10. On the other hand, cloudy and rainy conditions may occur on January 11.

Fog alert in these cities today

  • Very dense fog in Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Dausa, Dholpur, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sikar, Tonk, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh and Ganganagar.
  • Dense fog in Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Bundi, Chittorgarh and Nagaur city.

Chances of thunderstorm between 10-12 January

  • According to the MP Meteorological Department, another western disturbance is going to be active from January 10, due to which there is a possibility of drizzle with cloud cover in some cities of the state. Its effect is likely to remain till January 12.
  • Before Makar Sankranti, the weather will change in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Ajmer between January 10 and 12 in the state. After the rain, the period of cold wave will start again in the state and the day and night temperature will fall by five degrees.
  • Rabi crops will benefit from Mawath. Especially crops like wheat, barley, gram, mustard, taramira etc. will benefit more.
