Different weather patterns are being seen in India. On one hand, the southern states of the country are in the grip of heat wave, while on the other hand, rain and hailstorm are being seen in some states of North India. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on April 9.
Seasonal activities of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, the Western Disturbance forms a trough in the mid and upper tropospheric westerly winds with its axis north of 30 degrees north latitude along about 78 degrees east longitude at 5.8 km above mean sea level. At the same time, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over eastern Assam and surrounding areas.
Apart from this, the trough/wind dissection extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level from Interior Odisha to North Tamil Nadu up to Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Interior Karnataka. A fresh western disturbance is going to affect the western Himalayan region from April 10.
Delhi’s climate
It is extremely hot in Delhi during the day. However, the weather of the country’s capital may change once again. The Meteorological Department says that there are chances of rain and thundershowers in Delhi between April 11 and 14. According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi can remain between 36 to 39 degrees Celsius this entire week. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.
Weather condition of the country
According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells is possible over southern Odisha, eastern Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Whereas in West Bengal, Northeast India, Odisha, Bihar and Chhattisgarh, there may be light to moderate rain with sporadic thunder, lightning and strong winds (40-50 km per hour).
Apart from this, hailstorm activities are also possible in different areas of Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. Scattered light rain is possible in the western Himalayan region during the next two days and may increase thereafter.
