There is a possibility of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places in the state on July 24. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the state.
Chhattisgarh Weather Alert Today: Monsoon is active in Chhattisgarh, due to which it is raining in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, a new system is being activated today, due to which the situation will remain the same in the state for 2-3 days. During this, an alert has been issued for light to moderate rain in some places and heavy rain in some districts. There is also a possibility of lightning in some places of the state. There are chances of rain mainly in South and Central Chhattisgarh. Rain is possible at most places in South Chhattisgarh of the state, while at some places in North Chhattisgarh.
Light to moderate rain alert
According to the Chhattisgarh Meteorological Department, Monsoon Dronika is passing through central and southern Chhattisgarh, so moderate to heavy rains are expected at one or two places in Bastar division on Monday, while Surguja division will have to wait till July 25 for good rains. The same low pressure area is likely to form and the turf of monsoon will remain above Ambikapur only. Due to this, there is little chance of good rains in the entire division including Ambikapur. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places in the state on July 24. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the state.

- Monsoon trough is located via Deesa, Ratlam, Betul, Bramhapuri, Kanker, Kalingapatnam, and then towards southeast.
- An upper air cyclonic system at 1.5 km above mean sea level extending up to west central Bay of Bengal lies over south Odisha & neighborhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level.
- A wind shear zone lies between 3.1 km to 5.8 km above mean sea level at 20°N latitude.
- Today, due to the formation of a low pressure area over the Bay of South Central and adjoining North West Bengal, there may be moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning at many places in the state. There is a possibility of rain in Surguja division from Tuesday.
Last 24 hours rain alert
- Bijapur has received maximum rainfall of 773.4 mm in the state this season.
- Balod recorded 619.2 mm, Dhamtari 511.4 mm, Rajnandgaon 552 mm and Sukma 636.5 mm from July 1 to July 23, which is above normal.
- Surguja has received only 172.3 mm of rain. Apart from this, the capital Raipur has received an average rainfall of 495.4 mm, which is normal.
- The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Raigarh district at 34.8 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 22.7 degree Celsius in Jagdalpur.
