The Meteorological Department has predicted that severe hailstorm is likely to occur in many states including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Odisha and West Bengal on Monday. But officials say there is a chance that the heat wave will end this week. Bihar government issued red alert due to heat wave. Summer vacations for schools in Bihar have been extended till June 24. In view of the high temperature, the AP government has ordered that schools will be closed till 24th of this month. Classes will be held from 7.30 am to 11.30 am.

Cyclone Biparjoy is currently centered over south Rajasthan. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rains in these areas. Meteorological department officials said that heavy rains will occur in Madhya Pradesh on Monday. He said that in two to three days there will be rains in UP as well. It has been revealed that light rains are falling in Delhi-NCR due to the winds blowing from the Arabian Sea. In the wake of heavy rains, orange and red alert have been issued in Barmer, Jalore and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan.

Dr. BR Ambedkar, MD of the Disaster Management Organization, disclosed that there is a possibility of severe hailstorm in 23 mandals of Andhra Pradesh, hailstorm in 330 mandals, severe hailstorm in 16 mandals and hailstorm in 264 mandals. Alluri 6, Bapatla 1, East Godavari 8, Eluru 7 and one mandal in Krishna district are likely to experience severe hailstorm, he said. He said that the highest temperature of 46 degrees was recorded in Nellimars of Vizianagaram district on Sunday. The temperature was recorded at 45.9 degrees in Chebrolu of Kakinada district, 45.7 degrees in Saluru of Manyam district, 45.7 degrees in Kogunuru of Srikakulam district, 45.4 degrees in Nandarada of Tugo district and 45.3 degrees in Patchava of Prakasam district. In many districts of Telangana too, hailstorm is expected today and tomorrow.
